Job Description: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
A senior mechanical design engineer will be integral to project teams, which are working on the complex product development life cycle from concept to manufacturing. The role is designed for a skilled engineer who can contribute to the design and development of state -of -the -art mechanical components and systems. The status demands a perfect track record to give a deeper understanding of mechanical principles, proficiency in industry-standard CAD devices, and strong design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Complex mechanical components, assembly and system concept, designing and developing the 3D CAD software.
- Create a detailed 2D image with geometric dimensions and tolerance (GD & tT, which is to ensure manufacturing and assembly (GD & T).
- Performing engineering calculations and simulations for design verification, including stress analysis, thermal analysis, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Choosing suitable materials, finishes, and manufacturing procedures for product requirements and cost goals.
- To cooperate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and product managers, to ensure design integrity.
- Prototypes, testing, and evaluating designs to verify performance, reliability, and security standards.
- Identifying design-related issues and troubleshooting, and implementing effective corrective functions.
- Preparing and maintaining comprehensive design documents, including the Bill of Materials (BOM), design reports, and technical specifications.
- Mentioning junior engineers and providing technical guidance to the team.
Education and Qualification:
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or a Master’s Degree, or a field related to a recognized institute.
Experience:
- A solid 3 to 8 years of experience in mechanical product design and development.
- Proven experience in bringing products from concept to mass production.
Technical Skills:
- CAD proficiency: specialization in 3D CAD software; Proficiency in Creo (Pro/Engineer) and/or SolidWorks is highly desirable.
- GD & T: Intensive knowledge and practical application of ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensions and tolerance standards.
- DFM/DFA: Strong understanding of design for manufacturer (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
- Plastic and sheet metal: Plastic and sheet Broad experience in the design of metal components.
- Engineering Fundamental: Strong understanding of core mechanical engineering concepts, including mechanics of materials, statics, dynamics, and heat transfer.
- Problem-solution: Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability to solve complex engineering challenges.
